I hate leg lifts.
I really, really hate leg lifts. I was only smiling for the camera.
I never used to…I always did them after running when I lived in California. But now, my hips get soo stinkin’ T-I-G-H-T that I can only go a few feet off the ground.
However, side lying leg lifts can really help with hip dysfunction. For some great hip burning stretches. try these on for size:
(All are done lying on your side):
– Leg lift (keep your hips pointing forward and toe slightly pointed down.)
– Knee to Chest (Bring your top knee to your chest and return to stacked position)
– Femur Rotations (Bring leg about 6 inches off of floor. Flexing foot, rotate leg internally and externally. Make sure you don’t use your ankle, but that you are moving the whole leg)
Whew! Do about 20 reps on one side then switch. Do for 2-3 sets.
