Eat It! Write It! Share It!


Have you ever kept a food journal/log/record? It can be one of the most effective toold for weight loss. When you are required to write down EVERY single thing that you eat/drink, it makes you a lot more aware of how much food you are truly consuming. Sharing that log with another person can provide even more accountability. There’s nothing worse than having to ‘fess up to eating donuts on a non-workout day (not that I have ever done that of course….).

There are some great websites that can help you track calories, nutrients, water and so on. My personal favorite is Livestrong.Com. It can be a little technical, but is really useful for tracking specific foods, brands and recipes. However, if  too much Lance is a bad thing and not a good thing, you can try something like Sparkpeople.com. They have a much bigger community and a lot more interaction than Livestrong. The other is Myfitnesspal.com. This is really user friendly and kind of a more basic online log. Great community and very easy to use.
